By changing attitude towards the technology and customer management, the industry is preparing itself to embrace global challenges and thus the need of support of competent human resources with creative capabilities, research and development temper, efficiency and effectiveness becomes inevitable to surge ahead in the global market.
The plastics processing sector comprising over 30,000 units involved in producing a variety of items. The Indian Plastics Industry faced intense competition from the companies that were globally consolidated. Indian Plastics Industry needed technological advancements to compete the existing players
In the present context, we all are deeply concerned with the often price hikes in polymers, making the plastics products more prohibitive loosing its competitive edge over other counterparts. The hike in polymer prices along with the rising crude oil prices is the phenomenon of the world market.
As you may be aware Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals has constituted Sub-Group on Petrochemicals to make recommendations for the 11th Five Year Plan. GSPMA with other leading Associations in the country propose to form Advisory body for brainstorming in this direction and prepare joint submissions to the Central Government in a systematic manner. Early announcement of a comprehensive National petrochemical policy and setting up of Plastic Development Council is the need of the hour, which will facilitate the growth and development of the plastics industry.
